Abrasion Resistant Rollers

Our abrasion resistant rollers can be produced from solid urethane or with urethane bonded to steel, nylon or other plastics. Our abrasion resistant rollers reduce noise, are long lasting and they are also cut resistant. Please see some examples of our custom manufacturing abilities below:

This abrasion resistant roller is used to transport very soft materials. The wheel crushes to prevent damage to the product. Once tooling is produced, we can change the crush load requirements by changing the urethane supplied. We can make the crush load very low if needed to move the product. The abrasion resistant grooved wheel pictured allowed the customer to land a multi-million dollar contact. When AUS was first contacted, several other wheel designs had been tried without success. After discussing the problem, we suggested the design shown and tested three different hardnesses. The grooved wheel not only functioned every time, but lasted longer than any other product tried. Both drive and tail pulleys are produced in urethane. The urethane is bonded to steel for these pulleys. The urethane-timing pulley keeps everything in line, but is forgiving if the equipment locks up. The urethane will allow the belt to jump and not cause a failure.

Urethane wheels can be produced bonded to steel, nylon or other plastics. They can also be produced from solid urethane. Urethane wheels reduce noise, are abrasion and cut resistant and long lasting.
